British Steph O'Dell dyed her hair in a beauty salon, after which she became blind for five days, and her head was swollen, having increased in size three times. Reported by The Sun.

Instead of choosing her own hair dye, the 24-year-old entrusted it to a salon worker. She was going to clean up before flying to Amsterdam for her sister's 18th birthday.

At the same time, since adolescence, a girl suffers from an allergy to the chemical paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a common component of hair dye. Also, she cannot be used for henna and tint her eyebrows.

Two weeks before dyeing, she visited a salon, where the master checked the girl's allergic reaction to the paint she was going to use. No problems were identified. The master also assured the girl that the paint was organic and would not touch the scalp. However, the day after the staining, when O'Donell was already in Amsterdam, she developed an allergy.

It was terrible. I was in pain and looked like an alien. I was lucky it could have ended even worse. I will never dye my hair again,”O'Donell said about the incident.

The girl was taken to the hospital, where she was given an antihistamine and eye drops. According to the doctor, he has never seen such a strong allergic reaction. Five days later, her sight returned.
