Valentin Gaft was born on September 2, 1935. He made his film debut in 1956 in Murder on Dante Street. The greatest fame was brought to him by the paintings "Garage", "Promised Heaven", "Wizards", "Say a word about the poor hussar." Since the 1970s, the actor has served in the Sovremennik Theater, where he made his directorial debut. In 1984, Gaft was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR.
