The head physician of the dental clinic, Veronika Ryzhova, spoke about the intricacies of choosing a toothbrush bristle, proper teeth cleaning, the difference between children's and adult brushes, as well as personal hygiene, reports aif.ru. She noted that the brush should be chosen with artificial bristles, since bacteria can accumulate in natural ones. It is equally important to determine the stiffness of the brush. “If there are no problems with the teeth, then this is a medium hardness brush. If there are any problems with the gums or it is a postoperative period, it is better to use a softer, more gentle brush,”Ryzhova noted. She added that the teeth should be brushed according to the classical scheme, namely with sweeping movements from the gum to the cutting edge, then it is worth going to the polishing circular movements. This is how the vestibular surface of the teeth (front part) and the oral one are cleaned. The chewing gum is cleaned with back and forth movements, and then polished. Ryzhova noted that in order to save time and effort, it is worth choosing an electric brush, and if a person does not want to spend money on it and at the same time brushes his teeth well, then a regular one will be enough. In addition, if desired, both types of brushes can be combined. The doctor stressed that the toothbrush needs to be changed every two months. It is impossible to use an individual personal hygiene product for two people at once. According to Ryzhova, adult and children's toothbrushes should not be confused. Adult brushes can damage immature enamel in children. Because of this, baby brushes must be purchased in accordance with the age indicated on the package, they have a smaller head and more delicate bristles. Regarding herbal and charcoal brushes, the doctor noted that they should also be changed every two months, but the latter will be effective in maintaining the result after whitening. When choosing a brush, you should consult with your doctor who will tell you about the nuances of cleaning.
