Why do some people go in for sports literally from kindergarten to old age, while others try one thing, then another - and quit all the time?

It's not a lack of motivation. However, maybe in it too. But your motivation (don't laugh) is genetically driven. For example, let's say you and your friend decided to get your body sculpted for the beach season and signed up for strength training. The coach even took one for two: it's cheaper that way. And this trainer drives you with the same intensity. And you both try your best, because you have a kind of competition: who will build the most dice on the press. And now, after a couple of months, a friend has cubes, but you do not - with the same energy and financial costs. Naturally, you will lose all motivation. But she just has a gene mutation responsible for the accelerated formation of muscle mass, and you do not.

At the same time, it is possible that if you decided to jog, your friend would be a loser: in most cases, people whose relief does not grow well demonstrate remarkable endurance. Roughly speaking, some are able to move the carriage, while others can push a small cart for a long time.

Genetic given

Modern genetic tests will allow you to assess at least the susceptibility to injuries to the arms and legs (bones, muscles and tendons), flexibility, endurance, speed.

There are also markers that determine the level of lactic acid in the blood during exercise - and they explain why some of the muscles ache the next day after exercise so that it is impossible to move, while others feel only pleasant pain, confirming that "everything works."

Sometimes you may think that you have chosen the wrong sport, but in reality the mistake lies in speed, intensity or training regimen. The speed of muscle recovery, it turns out, is also a hereditary factor - some can exercise daily and in large quantities, while others, so that classes do not go to harm, need at least two days to rest. You will be surprised, but some really achieve great results if they do not exercise daily, but, for example, twice a week.

Everyone has a different reaction of the heart muscle to the release of adrenaline. If your heart literally jumps out of your throat after a fast run or a set of push-ups, then this is not always due to lack of training. Trying to get used to high loads, you are literally killing yourself. Perhaps yoga or walking would be much more suitable for you. Every day 10,000 steps to and from work can keep you fit better than a weekly 10K.

If you are not going to make sports a source of income, there is no point in torturing yourself. Exercise should be fun. Genetic testing for fitness costs about the same as a six-month gym membership. But if you do not want to pay or there are no genetic laboratories in your city, you can estimate your predispositions yourself.

Fitness by body type

The surest way to choose your sport is through trial and error. But it can take many years to select the options, since one can almost never distinguish between laziness and incompatibility - you need to spend at least a couple of months on each type of activity.

Therefore, we will focus on obvious factors. You can try to choose a sport for your body type.

"Apple"

A fairly common type of female figure. Its main feature is that when gaining weight, kilograms are deposited primarily not on the priest, but on the stomach. And even in thin women, the belly rolls forward slightly (which can lead to excessive sagging at the waist). But they, as a rule, have thin arms and slender legs.

Your sport. To avoid visceral obesity, you need to choose aerobic exercise. And so that the stomach does not roll out - to pump the press. But the paradox is that "apples" usually do not like fast and abrupt movements, and naturally weak hands do not allow them to achieve quick success in strength sports. Swimming, walking (not running!), Pilates, callanetics, barefoot, tango will allow you to solve your problems without unnecessary suffering.

"Pear"

This is the classic female figure: narrow shoulders, wide hips. When you gain weight, fat is deposited on your thighs and buttocks.

Your sport. By nature, women with this type of figure are fast and impetuous. But, paradoxically, flexibility is not your strong point. You will feel great in those types of fitness where femininity and speed can manifest. Your options: zumba, belly dance, running, strip plastic, aerobics.

"Hourglass"

Perfectly balanced figure: pronounced bust, thin waist, round hips. Whether you lose weight or gain weight, you still look delicious.

Your sport. Usually, people with a wasp waist are both flexible and enduring, but not prone to high speeds. You can afford pretty much anything, unless running and aerobics are fun. Strength training, yoga, stretching, all dance fitness, cycling (and in general any training on wheels: roller skates, skateboard, scooter), Nordic walking are ideal for you.

"Ruler"

This is a testosterone body type. By and large, these are "apples" never gaining excess weight. They have no waist. But fat does not build up on the hips either, and the bust is usually small. And they almost certainly have to deal with excess hair on their legs and face. But they have perfectly expressed muscles!

Your sport. If you do not intend to pursue a career in bodybuilding, then your everything is the bar. In the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening. It will allow you to keep your body in good shape and even form a fairly noticeable relief without wasting time. If this does not seem enough to you, then happily ever after, almost all your life you can practice swimming, strength training, body sculpting, long-distance running.
