A bit of biography

Childhood shapes personality. So it was, is and will be. Even the extraordinary perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri could not break this axiom, although he rams the routine, erasing all the rules and regulations on his way. "Crazy nose" (as the perfumer is called) spent his youth in his father's butcher shop. Sometimes he came to the garden to see his grandfather, where for hours he inhaled the smells of dry lichen, freshly cut hay, manure and wet grass. As you can see, no highly artistic perfumery. This is probably why Alessandro started creating experimental fragrances.

Gualtieri entered the perfumery school, but dropped out: why study if you plan to smash the olfactory pyramid from the cannon of your creativity to smithereens? But Alessandro worked with several famous houses - for example, he took part in the creation of the Helmut Lang perfume. The eccentric perfumer quickly realized that he was bored with coming up with fragrances according to well-defined formulas, and in 2007 he created the Nasomatto brand, where he first began to mix incompatible ingredients. And then he came up with another brand - Orto Parisi. Each brand has its own concept, but more on that later.

Gualtieri's fragrances are unique (not exaggerating). They smell like primitiveness, error, ethyl travel and crime. And these are just a couple of examples. Agree, is it difficult to imagine such smells? Correction: Impossible. Therefore, the perfumer does not paint the pyramids in principle and visualizes aromas by making installations and performances: he places perfumed saucers in cities, perfumes fountains, drives into art spaces on horseback. All for the sake of art.

Digital Quest

Alessandro visualizes aromas, and we visualize his thoughts. This is the Crazy Nose room. It contains ten objects, each of which reveals the secrets of the perfumer's creativity.

! Click on the objects in the room until you have collected everything. Found items will appear at the bottom of the picture. If you need clues, hover over the empty windows - read about scents and look for items that describe them. Why exactly these objects were in the room, Gualtieri himself will tell. Be careful, when you scroll the page, all objects disappear. If you want to see all the details of the room, open the picture in a new tab.
