"In March and April, two Saturdays in a row, in all branches of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology of the Moscow Department of Health, a campaign was held for the population, within which everyone could consult a mycologist-podologist for free," the message says.

If necessary, the participants of the action could undergo a luminescent examination method, dermatoscopy, microscopic and cultural examination for fungal infection, as well as receive recommendations on personal prevention of skin and nail diseases.

“More than 70% of patients who applied for a consultation were referred for additional analyzes - all of them had biomaterials taken for additional bacterioscopic examination. Such indicators indicate that a fairly large number of people do not pay enough attention to skin health,”said Olga Novozhilova, a dermatologist, deputy chief physician of the Moscow Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology of the Moscow Healthcare Department.

She added that given the high demand for consultations with dermatologists, the center will continue to carry out preventive actions.

“But we remind you that any resident of the capital can apply for medical help to the Center for Dermatovenereology and Cosmetology within the framework of the compulsory medical insurance,” concluded Novozhilova.
