Lotion tonic Lotion Tonique, Eisenberg

Tested by BeautyHack Editor-in-Chief Karina Andreeva

I use this tonic in the morning - I wipe the skin with a cotton pad and refresh it. In the evening, this is my final stage of cleansing. Extracts of licorice, rose water and witch hazel in the complex give a tonic and softening effect. I like the fact that the tonic does not have a pungent smell, but, on the contrary, has a calming smell of herbs. The composition also contains essential oils of lemon and orange, which fight against natural and premature aging of the skin, and also refresh it.

Although the product was not intended for this purpose, it helped me urgently a couple of times and, when there was no alternative at hand, it helped to remove makeup with a cotton pad. Great!

Moisturizing toner Moisturizing Toner, Caudalie

Tested by BeautyHack editor Anastasia Speranskaya

Cleansing the skin for me has long become a three-step routine: I remove makeup with hydrophilic oil, wash with gel and apply tonic. The product from Caudalie promises to cope with both the first and the last part - remove makeup (or what is left of it) and refresh the skin, preparing it for further care. The composition contains mysterious wine yeast, which moisturize and strengthen the skin, as well as mint, caraway and galbanum, which help to invigorate (feeling as if I washed myself with water from a spring). But for the absence of alcohol Caudalie thank you very much - the tonic does not tighten the skin, but, on the contrary, leaves it moisturized, but at the same time not sticky at all.

Orange Blossom Water Acqua di Fiori d'Arancio, Santa Maria Novella

Tested by BeautyHack editor Anastasia Speranskaya

“This is not a tonic, but a time machine,” I thought when I tried Santa Maria Novella for the first time. Applying pale orange water from a large glass bottle to a cotton pad, you feel like a signorina from the century before last. No wonder - long ago, monks used the exact same water to soothe their skin and even cure a cold. Now the brand proposes to use the product to tone the skin of the face, add it to the bath to relax the muscles, and apply it to the body as a light perfume. And to understand what water smells like, just imagine the blooming gardens of Sicily.

Lotion-tonic "Rose Petals" for dry and sensitive skin, Pure Line

Tested by BeautyHack editor Anastasia Speranskaya

Pure Line, as always, pleases with an honest natural composition - in the tonic lotion, the main “heroes” are herbal decoction and rose petal extract. However, the scent does not look like a herbal one - it is, rather, a mix of a bouquet of roses and some kind of baby remedy with a candy scent. For dry and sensitive skin, the toner is ideal - it does not irritate or dry out, leaving it moisturized and fresh (after it you just want to touch your face). The convenient size of the bottle should also be noted - the volume of 100 ml begs to "settle" in a travel cosmetic bag.

Active Pureness tonic, [comfort zone]

Tested by BeautyHack SMM Manager Alexandra Grishina

The toner is indicated for problematic, oily and acne-prone skin - I am just one of the "lucky ones"! The wow effect of the product is a mattifying effect. After washing, I always wipe my face with it, and I have never felt any unpleasant sensations in the form of tightness.

The main task of the tonic is to restore the pH level. I'll tell you how it works using my example. A few weeks ago I did a skin hydration test. He showed 34%. Since then, there has been only one change in my beauty routine: a tonic has appeared in it. After two weeks, the result is completely different - 78%. I would venture to suggest that the same result can be achieved using any other tonic. But I had a mutual love with the comfort zone, which I will not exchange for anything else!

Tonic lotion with iris extract, Clarins

Tested by the editorial assistant at BeautyHack Daria Mironova

I am actively testing this tonic and plan not to part with it until the onset of the summer heat. Let's see how the skin will react to the product further. Now I apply it 2-3 times a day after washing my face and before applying a moisturizer. Two important facts: there are fewer inflammations on the skin, the pores in the T-zone seem to be less noticeable.

The tonic has a very light floral aroma - a mix of iris and sage (the main components of the product). But there is no alcohol in it, so it does not dry out the skin. I highly recommend toner if you have combination to oily skin!

Multi-active toner Multi Active Toner, Dermalogica

Tested by BeautyHack project manager Anastasia Lyagushkina

Immediately, I note that this is a toner (not a tonic!), So you need to apply it in the final cleansing. My scheme: micellar water, toner and then toner to moisturize. The product is in the form of a spray, so it can be used instead of thermal water during the day if you want to refresh and moisturize your skin. This is a great anti-stress: one press and you are immersed in a berry-floral haze of extracts of lavender, elderberry, lemon balm and arnica. And if you have sensitive skin, the toner will also soothe it thanks to the end-aloe vera infusion!

Price: 2 500 rubles.

Toner Toner Balancing & Refreshing, Nairian

Tested by BeautyHack project manager Anastasia Lyagushkina

The first eco-brand from Armenia Nairian appeared in Russia last year. This is a family business. Its founders are former Silicon Valley programmers Ara and Anahit Markosyan. The family owns a 5.5 hectare farm - this is where most of the components of Nairian's funds grow.

I got the Balancing & Refreshing toner for the test and at the very first application I found myself (no, not in the Armenian highlands) in my grandmother's garden with roses. The main component of the product is Damask rose distillate. Together with cucumber extract and allantoin, they are great for moisturizing and refreshing my sensitive skin. Plus, there is no alcohol in the composition, so the tonic cannot dry out!

Toner for dry and sensitive skin Bioregene Fluide, Methode Cholley

Tested by BeautyHack Editor Natalia Kapitsa

Bioregene Fluide is not a classic liquid tonic. Methode Cholley is more gel-like in consistency. It is instantly absorbed, moisturizing and slightly tightening the skin. Bioregene Fluide is a nutritional "cocktail" of amino acid, hyaluronic acid, bearberry extract, riboflavin and other useful substances. After using it, a nourishing cream is optional - it easily solves the problem of both toning and nutrition for owners of oily skin. Bioregene Fluid is odorless: hypersensitive noses will thank you. During the day, I apply the product instead of the makeup base - the foundation fits perfectly.

Calming Rose Water Toner, Garnier

Tested by BeautyHack editor Julia Kozoliy

I have a long-standing love with Garnier tonics. In high school and university, I generously poured myself a blue tonic bottle from the Clear Skin series. He promised to get rid of blackheads and oily shine and always (always!) Helped out: matted, dried inflammations and perfectly removed the remnants of makeup. Even the obvious alcohol smell did not bother me. But now the skin has become less grateful for such an aggressive attack (and the priorities have changed: instead of a matting effect - a refreshing one, instead of removing makeup with one tool - multi-step care and restoration of the pH level), so I had to switch to a soothing tonic with rose water. I apply it after washing, it does not tighten the skin (there is no alcohol in the composition), it refreshes great (I advise you to take it on vacation), does not leave a sticky layer, but it prepares the skin for applying a moisturizer and just smells great like a spring!

Botanical kinetic toning mist, Aveda

Tested by BeautyHack editorial assistant Karina Ilyasova:

Avene's refreshing and invigorating facial toner restores balance and controls sebum production. The spray is very light with a pleasant herbal scent. The texture is similar to regular water, but very refreshing. Does not leave a sticky layer, it is absorbed in just a few seconds. I use it before applying a cream or just to refresh my skin throughout the day. It is important that it does not provoke rashes, does not tighten the skin, making it soft and moisturized.

Price: about 1,500 rubles.

Fresh Moisturizing Facial Toner Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Hydrating Toner

Tested by editorial assistant Anya Khobotova

Hydra Végétal Facial Toner is part of Yves Rocher's eponymous line of moisturizers. It contains 9 bottles, the main task of which is to moisturize the skin not even 24, but all 48 hours! The main component of the series is Edulis cell water extract. The company's researchers chose it for its ability to accumulate and retain moisture in all layers of the skin. The products in this line do not contain mineral oils, colorants or parabens.

I use toner to remove makeup residues in the evening and refresh the skin in the morning. I apply it before using the cream (night and day). My conclusions after two weeks of using the product: peeling and tightness are gone!

Botanical Beauty Balancing Toner Rose, Ginger and Chamomile, Grown Alchemist

Tested by BeautyHack special correspondent Anna Bond

Grown Alchemist is another Australian brand that has recently appeared in Russia. At first, of course, I was attracted by the minimalist bottle (which is already decorating the bathroom), and then by the origin of the brand. In addition to the classic story about organic ingredients, the brothers Keston and Jeremy Mujis - the creators of the brand - focused on their own developments. Behind the sophisticated composition of the products is a team of chemists who come up with ways to safely obtain peptides, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid in an environmentally friendly way. For example, the tonic that I tested contains extracts of olive oil and chamomile, ginseng and aloe vera, vitamin C. The latter is designed to fight free radicals, but I will report on this after a couple of months of use. What can I say now: after use, the skin is smoother (even smoothed), redness is not visible, the tone is smoother. It is a pleasure to apply makeup on such a “blank canvas”!

Facial toner Vital Falls, Valmont

Tested by BeautyHack editor Julia Kozoliy

One of Valmont's cleansing products - Water Falls thermal water - we have already tested at BeautyHack (read the review here). Very briefly: removes light makeup and soothes the skin. The Vital Falls tonic has a slightly different task - it moisturizes the skin, removes the dull shade and prepares for the application of the cream. On my own I would advise you to use the product if you feel that your skin needs nourishment, express rehabilitation, and you need rest (or, on the contrary, a cheerful mood for the day. You can apply the product with your hands or with a napkin. If you choose the first method, you can simultaneously do a light massage (I so I rest, and at the same time I bring the lifting effect from using the funds closer.) It will help out if there are minor inflammations on the skin - after use, the tone is definitely smoother!
