The government of the Khabarovsk Territory announced an open competition for the annual protection of the interim governor of the region, Mikhail Degtyarev. More than 33 million rubles will be spent on these services. Seven bodyguards are planned to be hired. Earlier, the head of the region said that he received threats, so he "does not feel safe."

Open Media was the first to draw attention to the competition.

The company that wins the competition will protect "the life and health of a senior official, including the protection of the buildings and premises he occupies," as well as advise and prepare recommendations on issues of protection against unlawful encroachments. Participants in the competition must have a license for private security activities, as well as a permit to store and use weapons and ammunition for it.

Seven guards will accompany Degtyarev around the clock. The bodyguards must have the qualifications of a private security guard of the sixth category. They will check the location of the head of the region for the presence of explosives and toxic substances. Applications for the competition will be accepted from November 12 to December 4. An auction will take place on December 10.

At the end of October, the media wrote that Mikhail Degtyarev strengthened the security. Then, according to the terms of the contract, it was stipulated that he would be guarded around the clock by two officers of the Russian Guard. The contract for 800 thousand rubles was signed for a month.

The acting governor himself at the end of last month said that he was receiving threats, so he did not feel safe. “I'm strengthening security. Threats are coming in. There is intelligence information. We have dragged too many people out of the trough. This may not please some. Therefore, yes, the security service is and will continue to work. Anyone can visit our government house today. With weapon. With anything, and in general it's not normal - he said.

Mikhail Degtyarev was appointed Acting Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory on July 20 after the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to remove Sergei Furgal from this post “due to the loss of confidence”. The court arrested the former head of the region on suspicion of involvement in organizing murders in 2004-2005. Since July 11, unauthorized actions have been held in Khabarovsk in support of the former governor. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 10,000 people took part in some of the rallies.
