8/8 Who rushed to defend their honor. One of the first to stand up for them was the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vitaly Milonov, who said that Russian models are more beautiful than Beyonce herself.

Thus, two Krasnodar models, Anastasia Semenovykh and Alena Melnikova, faced a wave of hatred due to several photos on Instagram. This happened after the Ivy Park sportswear brand, owned by the super popular singer Beyoncé, published photos of two Russian women. In the pictures, the girls were dressed in clothes of this brand and looked in the appropriate style: a lush hairstyle, African braids, tanned skin, massive jewelry. However, many decided that this was not just a stylized photo shoot, but a humiliation on the basis of race.

The brand's account was literally flooded with hundreds of outraged comments. People wrote that such photo sessions humiliate the dignity of blacks, because the Russians allegedly specially "mimicked" the skin color, hair and culture of African Americans.

After a flurry of negative comments, the American brand removed the photos, but outraged netizens found the personal profiles of the Russians and continued the "attack."

In the comments, people demanded that Krasnodar models stop "pretending that they are black" and wrote about the situation with racism in Russia:

“Don't be surprised that this is the only place in the world where there was no movement“Black Lives Matter”;“You are stealing an entire culture”;“They know nothing about the oppression of blacks! Their level lags behind for several centuries ….

Of course, such commentators were quickly rebuffed. The Russians began to write that "our beauties are the best" and there is no talk of any racism:

"If I were all the dissatisfied, on the contrary, I would be glad that their culture is liked by people who are far from it. We are not saying that people all over the world should not drink Russian vodka or eat borscht …".

The girls themselves answered what was happening.

“Dark-skinned women, and even white-skinned ones, en masse began scribbling comments to us from the category:“These white Russians insult our rights.”It turns out, it was necessary to be photographed in a kokoshnik and with a long Russian braid?”, Alena Melnikova, one of the models, is indignant.

Later, the girls explained that their photography did not carry any racist overtones, and the accusations that they deliberately "smeared self-tanning on themselves" are groundless.

“Actually, we didn’t put on self-tanning. It’s been doing so well in Turkey since the summer! It turns out that in“progressive”America, wearing hair like African-American women, sunbathing, pumping ass and dancing hip-hop is tough racism,” explains Anastasia Semyonovykh.

Spiteful comments on their pages do not stop appearing, but Russian women do not despair. On the contrary, the girls continue to publish pictures from the scandalous photo session and write that "no one can forbid a Russian person to wave a Russian braid in the wind."
