MOSCOW, Dec 15 - PRIME. The decline in industrial production in Russia in November slowed down to 2.6% in annual terms after falling by 5.5% in October, according to Rosstat data.
As noted in the message of the department, in January-November 2020, compared with January-November 2019, the decline in industrial production was 3%. Compared to October of the current year, in November, a decrease of 0.1% was recorded.
In its publication on Tuesday, Rosstat also clarified data on the decline in industrial production in October - from the previous 5.9% to 5.5%.
According to the statistics department, in November in the field of mining, the decline in production slowed to 7.6% yoy after falling by 9% in October (in January-November, a decrease of 6.8% yoy). The manufacturing industry recorded an increase of 1.1% in November in annual terms after a decline of 3.7% in October. In January-November, manufacturing in processing decreased by 0.1% on an annualized basis.
In the field of electricity, gas and steam supply, the fall in November amounted to 2.8% in annual terms after a decline of 2.9% in October (in January-November - a decline of 2.8%). In the sector of water supply, sewerage and waste disposal in November, production increased by 3.3% in annual terms after growing by 4.1% in October (in January-November - a decline of 3.8%).
In January, industrial production in the RF increased by 1.5%, in February - by 4.8%, in March - by 2.4%. Since the second quarter, the dynamics of the industry has been in the negative zone. In April, the decline was 4.5% each, in May the largest decline was recorded - by 7.9%. In June, the decline in industry slowed down to 7.1%, in July - to 5.9%, in August - to 4.2%, in September - to 3.6%. In October, the industrial decline accelerated to 5.5% in annual terms.
The Ministry of Economic Development expects a decrease in industrial production in the Russian Federation in 2020 by 4.1% and growth by 2.6% in 2021.
