In recent years, Russian women have begun to spend less time on personal hygiene and personal care. This may be due to the fact that they have to work more in a difficult economic situation, according to the News.ru portal.

If in 2014 women and men spent 47 percent of the total daily fund on hygiene and personal care, then by 2019 this share among women had dropped to 36 percent, and among men it had increased to 48 percent. According to clinical psychologist Valentin Denisov-Melnikov, these figures reflect the increased concern of women about their own future and the future of their offspring.

“Give a woman more time for rest and various care procedures, she will be happy to spend it on this important activity for her. I do not think that any of the fair sex voluntarily refuses to put on makeup, go to a hairdresser or beautician,”said the specialist.

But men, in turn, shift many responsibilities to women. In addition, the fair sex is more often busy with household chores and childcare outside of working hours, while men can devote the spare part of the day to themselves, the expert explained.
