"I knew I was not healthy," recalls 26-year-old American Anya Taylor at the time. Just three years ago, she weighed about 150 kilograms with a height of 167 cm. Acne did not disappear from her face and neck, her menstrual cycle was disrupted, and her knees were constantly sore.

The doctor to whom Anya turned, predicted serious problems for her due to arthritis, if she did not find the strength to lose weight. The fact that in a year she added 50 kg was brought about by the first experience of independent life.

"Without any restrictions, I ate everything I wanted. But I wanted fatty and harmful," Anya recalls.

She was always a little fattier than her friends and used to think of herself as "big". And although the girl hated buying clothes in fat stores, she convinced herself that her weight was not an issue. As a result, this led to the fact that at the age of 22 she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, in which the functions of the ovaries and pancreas are disrupted.

In December 2015, Anya realized that she needed to get rid of excess weight, but did not know where to start.

"When you have health problems, it is very difficult to get to the gym. It's more difficult than people think."

In February, she went to her first workouts and at the same time began to eat right: there are more vegetables and protein than carbohydrates.

By December 2016, she had lost 45 kg. The knee pains disappeared, the menstrual cycle was restored. Appearance finally began to delight her. While training, Anya managed to overcome even difficult life events without major disruptions: parting with her fiancé and going to a new job without interrupting her college studies.

"There are many problems that life confronts us. But they need to be overcome," says the girl.

Her goal for the coming months is to lose about 20 kg more. For herself, Anya formulated three main principles that help her in the fight against excess weight.

1. Do what you like

Exercise bikes became her favorite type of activity - it was thanks to them that Anya fell in love with fitness. It is useless to force yourself to spend time on an unloved occupation - sooner or later you will quit it anyway.

2. Set achievable goals

Do not try to get rid of all the pounds you have accumulated at once. Losing weight is a gradual process, and achieving small intermediate goals will only add motivation to you.

3. Find a company

In the gym, Anya met many friends who helped her not to quit what she had begun halfway through. She supported her in difficult times and encouraged her to lead a healthy lifestyle.
