So, one of the fragrances is dedicated to the ancient Greek marble sculpture of Nika of Samothrace. It was created using the perennial tuberose, magnolia and jasmine, enhanced by the warmth of myrrh, say the perfumers. The equally famous Venus de Milo is interpreted by perfume master Jean-Christophe Hérault using mandarin, jasmine and amber. Among other iconic works of art, the acquaintance with which will now occur, among other things, through the exuded aromas, the sculpture "Nymph with Scorpio" by Lorenzo Bartolini. The perfume created on its basis contains notes of heliotrope and jasmine, flavored with amber and musk. The perfume of Saint Joseph the Carpenter, based on the painting of the same name by Georges de La Tour, boasts deep notes of cedar wood infused with verbena, pink berries and vetiver.

Four more fragrances from the Louvre were inspired by "The Bather of Walpinson" and "Big Odalisque" by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, the painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard "The Catch" and "Conversation in the Park" by the English painter Thomas Gainsborough. It is noteworthy that the most famous exhibit of the Louvre - "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo Da Vinci did not become part of the new collection of fragrances. According to the press secretary of the museum, Adele Zian, “the perfume was created to awaken all possible senses in visitors who look at this or that exhibit in the Louvre. Eight fragrances will add a lot to what has been said about the collections, especially about ancient works,”said the representative of the Louvre.

Visitors to the Paris Museum can purchase perfumes from July 3, 2019 to January 6, 2020 on the ground floor of the Allée du Grand Louvre boutique. Their cost is 150 euros for a package of 75 ml. In addition, the range includes scented candles (€ 150), scented soap sheets (€ 20) and scented cards (€ 7).
