Shreya Siddanagauder and her family have been waiting for a year for the moment when a suitable donor will be found. Finally, they were informed that the transplant was now possible and the girl could get new hands. However, first she had to give her consent to the transplant. It turned out that a 20-year-old boy became its donor: he led a sports lifestyle and had a darker skin. And of course, his hands were significantly different from those of women.

The girl agreed to the operation without hesitation, because it was her chance to return to her old life. At first, she was afraid to appear in public and tried to avoid undue attention to herself. However, over time, she accepted her new body and returned to her studies.

But some time passed, and the girl began to notice unusual changes taking place with her new hands: gradually the skin became lighter, and there was less vegetation on them. They began to look more feminine and more and more like her own.

The doctors were no less surprised by what was happening and made several assumptions about this: the skin could lighten due to the fact that the coloring pigment melanin is contained in the girl's body in smaller quantities. And the decrease in hair growth on the hands could be caused by the fact that there is much less male hormone testosterone in the female body.

Later, the hands also changed: they became smaller and more graceful. Now they practically do not differ from the "native" hands of the girl. Shreya returned to her old life and feels quite comfortable: her former sensitivity has returned to her hands, and she even visits nail salons. So a girl from India became one of the few who managed to return her body to its former state after serious injuries. In total, about 200 such operations have been performed in the world, and Shreya became the first Indian patient.
