Conscript soldier Ramil Shamsutdinov, who shot his colleagues in a military unit in Transbaikalia, complained about psychiatrists in court. According to Shamsutdinov, the specialists of the Moscow Serbsky Center directly told him that he should have taken his own life. The soldier's defense insists on a new examination. The court will also question psychiatrists who found Shamsutdinov sane.
“When I was asked about how it all happened, I said that if I had been dipped in the toilet, I would have hanged myself. She said that it would be better if I did so, then none of this would have happened,”the soldier shared.
“I told another specialist that I was forced to wash my socks, but he said that he did not see a big problem in this and it would be better if I washed them than the way it happened. I believe that this shows a biased attitude,”added Shamsutdinov.
His lawyers expressed the opinion that the conclusion of the psychiatric examination was carried out in such a way that Shamsutdinov was found guilty. After that, the prosecution petitioned for the need to interrogate three of the four specialists of the V. P. Serbian.
Shamsutdinov told his father Salim about the bias of psychiatrists. They simply wrote a letter to the paperwork and followed the instructions of the investigator that Ramil was sane,”Shamsutdinov Sr. told Rise.
He believes that his son, due to lack of sleep and constant humiliation at the time of the execution of his colleagues and officers, was in a "state of deepest passion." “Each witness confirms that for three months of service in this unit, he was constantly humiliated, insulted, not allowed to sleep, unnecessary sports outfits were appointed,” Salim Shamsutdinov said. “What happened is the consequences of what senior servicemen and officers did over him,” he said.
The tragedy occurred on October 25, 2019, when Ramil Shamsutdinov shot and killed two officers and six colleagues during a changing of the guard at a military unit in Transbaikalia. After the tragedy, the Ministry of Defense said that Shamsutdinov had a nervous breakdown, provoked by "personal circumstances not related to military service." In January, Shamsutdinov wrote a letter to the relatives and friends of the victims at his hand.
