On the call of the head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky to prohibit the import of flowers into Russia from abroad on the eve of March 8, the art director of the Florist.ru company Serafima Olina answered. She sharply criticized the proposal of the deputy.

The fact is that Zhirinovsky believes that these flowers can be contagious. They supposedly contain causative agents of various diseases - viruses, bacteria, insect larvae from America, Africa and Europe.

It seems to me that this is on the verge of some kind of madness. There may be bugs on the plant. Every flower, every batch and every delivery is certified,”said Olina on the air of the Moscow Talking radio station.

According to her, all flowers are checked for sanitary and epidemiological violations and must have documents in which it is spelled out.

And Zhirinovsky's proposal will only lead to a shortage of plants and, accordingly, a sharp rise in prices. Especially considering that their popularity has grown significantly during the pandemic.

Women on the eve of March 8 were asked what they would like to receive as a gift and what gifts they consider useless. It turned out that this is one and the same subject, NEWS.ru wrote earlier.
