Doctors of the burn center of the Inozemtsev City Clinical Hospital of the Moscow Department of Health have cured a woman with severe scalp burns received after igniting a kerosene hair compress. This was reported to the Moscow City News Agency in the press service of the Department of Health.
“In Moscow, a woman decided to use a folk recipe for hair care and was hospitalized with severe burns. Wrapping her head with a cloth soaked in kerosene, she decided to light a cigarette. From the flame of the lighter, the kerosene wrap ignited. The flame was quickly extinguished, and the victim was taken to the burn center of the Inozemtsev hospital with a 3rd degree flame burn of the scalp,”the statement says.
As noted, the lesion turned out to be deep - to the entire thickness of the dermis and, in fact, to the bone tissue of the cranial vault.
“There was no question of self-healing of the received wounds. Doctors performed plastic surgery, thanks to which they managed to restore the integrity of the skin. As a result of the treatment, rough scars were avoided. The consequences of using the folk recipe were reduced to subtle scars on the scalp,”the press service of the Moscow Healthcare Department concluded.
