MOSCOW, November 17. / TASS /. The rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mau contracted a coronavirus infection, the press service of the university told TASS on Tuesday.
"The rector of the presidential academy, Vladimir Mau, has a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. The disease is mild, the state of health is generally normal. Due to the disease, Vladimir Mau went into self-isolation and continues to work remotely. Today the rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration took part in a meeting of the Council of the Russian Union rectors via video link, "the press service said.
Most of the universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg followed the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation to switch to distance learning from November 13 to February 6, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said on Tuesday. Universities in the regions are also recommended to transfer students to distance learning based on the situation in each individual constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
