In the 20th century, hand manicure was a rock star feature. The images of David Bowie and Freddie Mercury could not do without this. Then they were joined by rappers and Hollywood actors, and now nail art has become a global trend among men, including from Russia. Just plain varnish, black lettering, geometric patterns or eye-tearing graphics that are different on each finger - there are many options. What do women think about the fashion trend? Rambler has collected their opinions.

Most people in our country get used to trends for a long time. For many, the idea that men can paint their nails is terrifying, but for some it is already commonplace. More often in Russia people of creative professions sign up for manicure with nail design: actors, artists and musicians.

The girls, in their assessments of the current trend, were divided, as usual, into two camps: some do not understand the new norms, others admire them. Here's what they say:

"Manik is good … but this new reality is scary",

"And then we wonder where there are so many women-like men,"

"I love clean, neat hands, manicure, yes, but the covering on a man's hands somehow looks unusual",

"Soon there will be no one to give birth to children. Men are smoothly turning into women,"

"A man should be a man. Clean, trimmed nails are the maximum in my understanding. At this rate, there will be no one to protect us, and then suddenly the manicure will ruin … ugh."

There were more opponents of male nail art who refused to accept the new trend, but progressive women found arguments against them:

"I don't know what it is that men do manicure. I don't even understand why this case was stuck exclusively to the female sex. Like a pancake, why girls can decorate their nails, but guys can't? It's kind of stupid."

"The main thing is that a person is good, and it doesn't matter if it is a man or a woman, with or without manicure. Before, men wore wigs and leggings, and that they ceased to be real men from this?"
