The first spy photos of the Audi A8 have appeared after restyling. Despite the fact that the prototype is partially in camouflage, it is clear that the appearance of the flagship sedan has not changed much. The executive sedan received a different auto optics, a modified radiator grill and slightly modified bumpers. After the update, the Audi A8 will feature matrix diode headlights, designed by analogy with the head optics of the new A3 family and the e-tron electrocross.
The horizontal slats on the radiator grill will be replaced with a part with large cells, the design of which will differ in different trim levels. These technical changes mark the debut of the improved A8 TFSI e plug-in hybrid with a larger traction battery and wider engine range, including the W12 modification. The multi-cylinder engine will be powered by a luxury version of the Audi-Horch, which is a potential competitor to Mercedes-Maybach.
Audi has no plans to produce a completely "green" A8 yet, but further expansion of the line of hybrids and the premiere of the "hot" top version of the S8 Plus is expected. The world presentation of the updated Audi A8, apparently, will take place in the second half of this year, and the model will go on sale in 2022.
