Earlier this year, the star of November Harper's Bazaar Marion Cotillard became the face of the legendary Chanel 5. Today, the French Maison shared backstage footage of a new advertising campaign for the fragrance, in which Marion finally appears, as well as a video about the making of the film. It will premiere later this week. In the first shots, the brand's muse and Oscar winner for the screen transformation into Edith Piaf is dressed in a Chanel couture dress and seems to be having a great time in the dance hall. Since the campaign of Chanel 5 with Nicole Kidman is still included in the ratings of “the most expensive advertising in history”, we expect something special from the new film. Moreover, the very history of the cult scent obliges this. When Gabrielle Chanel and perfumer Ernest Beaux released “number five” in 1921, they offered women much more than just a new perfume - they offered a revolution. Contrary to the tradition of the time when soliflores were in fashion, that is, fragrances of the same color, Chanel insisted on a complex composition from a whole bouquet: “I need a complex fragrance from many details, like a dress.” Thus, being a couturier, Mademoiselle made a revolution in perfumery. And 5 is the serial number of the sample Bo created for her. Rejecting the poetic names, which were very popular in those days, she chose the number (which was also her talisman) for the name of the composition.
