Contrary to the tradition of the time when soliflores were in fashion, that is, fragrances of the same color, Chanel insisted on a complex composition from a whole bouquet: “I need a complex fragrance from many details, like a dress.” Thus, being a couturier, Mademoiselle made a revolution in perfumery. And 5 is the serial number of the sample Bo created for her. Rejecting the poetic names, which were very popular in those days, she chose the number (which was also her talisman) for the name of the composition.
