Plastic surgeons at OKB 2 restore the quality of life to patients. In the summer of this year, a woman was admitted to the hospital after surgery to remove a tumor of the posterior cranial fossa with damage to the facial nerve trunk. The patient required the help of a plastic surgeon.

At the hospital, the woman underwent a typical two-layer facelift with an SMAS flap on both sides. As the maxillofacial and plastic surgeon Alexander Marinin said, on the one hand, where there was paralysis, the patient underwent static suspension of the lats of the fascia of the thigh. After the pandemic, she will have another operation - additional correction. Thanks to her, the patient's face will become more symmetrical.

Such operations are possible thanks to modern equipment and highly professional skills of surgeons, but doctors are constantly improving their skills. So, Alexander Marinin attended the congress on plastic surgery in St. Petersburg, which took place from October 29 to 31, - the press service of the GBUZ TO OKB 2 told the Ural Meridian news agency.

Leading experts and practicing surgeons and anatomists from Russia, Great Britain and Hungary delivered lectures. The congress was divided into three blocks: rhinoplasty, liposculpture and modern blepharoplasty.

As the plastic surgeon of OKB 2 noted, technologies are developing, and plastic surgery is becoming more and more important. According to him, lipofilling is now more widely used - the transplantation of a patient's own adipose tissue from one zone to another.

In the fall of this year, Alexander Marinin attended a master class from the head of the department of surgical treatment of anomalies of the craniomaxillofacial region, candidate of medical sciences, maxillofacial surgeon Alexander Ivanov in Moscow. The conference was held at the Central Research Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Within the framework of the master class, four operations were carried out. There was also an extensive discussion of bone grafting of the upper jaw.

Plastic surgery is not just aesthetic adjustments to the appearance for the sake of fashion, this type of assistance is aimed at eliminating deformation, defects and the consequences of injuries. It improves the health and quality of life of patients. A competent plastic surgeon helps the organs to regain their correct shape to perform their primary function correctly.
