MOSCOW, November 4. / TASS /. The number of people infected with coronavirus in Russia increased by 19,768 per day, this is the maximum for the entire pandemic. The total number of those infected has risen to 1,693,454, the Coronavirus Operations Headquarters told reporters on Wednesday.
Thus, the number of cases detected in Russia came close to 20 thousand, almost doubling in a month - more than 10 thousand infected for the first time since May were detected on October 4, and the mark of 5 thousand was again exceeded on September 4.
In relative terms, according to the headquarters, the increase increased to 1.2%. The lowest growth rates were recorded per day in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Dagestan (0.5% each), the Moscow region, the Chuvash Republic (0.6% each), the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Chechen Republic, the Sverdlovsk region and the Mari El Republic (0, 7%). In particular, 5,826 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Moscow per day, in the Moscow region - 569, in the Nizhny Novgorod region - 417, in the Arkhangelsk region - 389, in the Rostov region - 309. The number of cured patients increased by 15 567 per day, this is also the maximum for the entire pandemic. A total of 1,266,931 patients have already recovered from the infection. According to the headquarters, the total number of discharged patients remained at 74.8% of the total number of infected. In particular, 3,853 patients were discharged per day in Moscow after recovery, 422 in the Moscow region, 407 in the Voronezh region, 298 in the Rostov region and 288 in the Saratov region.
The number of deaths due to coronavirus in Russia per day increased by 389 against 355, having updated the maximum during the pandemic. A total of 29,217 people died in the country due to a new infection. The conditional mortality of the disease (the final one can be determined only after the end of the epidemic) has increased to 1.73%, follows from the data of the headquarters. During the day, 68 deaths were registered in Moscow, 66 - in St. Petersburg, 15 - in the Rostov region, 14 - in the Nizhny Novgorod and Voronezh regions, 13 - in the Moscow region, in another 49 regions the number of deaths did not exceed 12.
Geography of the epidemic
Most of all new cases of infection were detected in Moscow - 5,826 (maximum since May 11, when it became known about 6,169 infected). This is 29.5% of all infected in the country, whose diagnosis was confirmed over the past day.
In the Central Federal District, as a whole, 8,569 cases were detected, which was the highest value since the beginning of the pandemic. The previous maximum was also recorded on May 11 - 8,470.
In St. Petersburg, the number of people infected per day reached 1,031, exceeding a thousand for the first time since the spread of coronavirus in Russia. At the same time, in total in the Northwestern Federal District, the increase was 2 615 - a high incidence, in addition to St. Petersburg, is recorded in the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, as well as in the Komi Republic.
The third place in terms of the number of detected cases of infection is occupied by the Volga region (2,172). In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the next maximum in the number of cases was set - 417 per day.
In Siberia, 1,977 infected people were registered due to the high incidence in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (where more than 300 cases of infection are detected for the second day in a row), the Irkutsk Region, where the number of infected people came close to the maximum figure recorded on July 3, and a number of other regions.
In the Far East, as on Tuesday, the number of cases was 1,526, in the Southern Federal District and the Urals, it increased to 1,232 and 1,067, respectively, in the North Caucasus - to 610. Thus, the main increase in the number of infected people is still to Moscow and the Central Federal District in general (about 43.3% of all cases confirmed in the country per day were detected there).
