Unlike previous events, this year, as the editor-in-chief of the magazine Ilyana Erdneeva said, the selection took place without the traditional voting on the site. “In this all-changing year, she is called Women of the Year, and this small transformation means a lot to us. We abandoned the traditional voting on the site - because personal and professional heroism, work, social activities and even entertainment at this difficult time did not seem to us to be matters suitable for comparison or rating, the TASS news agency quotes her.
The title of "Women of the Year" was given to the stars of the cult series "Chiki" Irina Gorbacheva, Varvara Shmykova, Irina Nosova and Alena Mikhailova, as well as singer Yulia Sievert, performing under the pseudonym Zivert. According to the organizers of the award, they are the women "whose voices are heard", who "achieve their goal in social processes, business, creativity, despite objective difficulties, injustice and a global pandemic."
The winners of the award also became: Miroslava Duma - the protagonist of the movement for eco-responsibility in fashion, Margarita Kovalchuk - the first Russian cyber sportswoman to play for a professional cyber football team, Oksana Pushkina - State Duma deputy, co-author of bills to combat domestic violence, co-founder of the Anderson family cafes network”And the ombudsman for small and medium-sized businesses in the Russian Federation Anastasia Tatulova, author of the flash mob on the Russian Internet“IsoIsolation”Ekaterina Brudnaya-Chelyadinova, three-time world champion in high jump Maria Lasitskene and others.
