GM Defense has begun delivering the first ISV infantry vehicle intended for the US Army and NATO forces. The nine-seater pickup is designed to transport soldiers and equipment. A total of 649 such models will be created. The military contract for $ 214 million also includes payment for the development of the car. Most likely, the contract will be expanded and more than 2 thousand cars will be produced over the next eight years.
A 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine will be installed under the hood of the car, the power of which is still unknown. It is only known that it will be more than 186 horsepower. As a transmission, a six-speed automatic transmission and a two-stage transfer case are offered.
The all-wheel drive pickup is equipped with electronic differential locks on the front and rear axles. The long travel suspension designed specifically for desert racing will help cushion the impact.
The model has a number of plates that protect components and assemblies.
The front panel is made of high strength steel. It serves as protection for the engine, dispenser and fuel tank.
