In the US state of Florida, the owners of a Chihuahua named Clitus managed to lose the weight of their pet. The obese dog weighed six kilograms a year ago and could not move independently, according to the Metro newspaper.
According to the owners Klitus Austin and Linda, the dog was of normal kit, but, having reached the 12th birthday, he began to gain weight.
“Most of his life he looked quite normal, but when he was 12 years old, he began to gain excess weight. He could no longer walk on the street. He became more and more lazy. He liked to eat and lie down a lot,”said Linda.

She noted that by the spring of 2018, the dog weighed over six kilograms, which is quite a lot for this breed. Due to the fact that Klitus did not move well, they drove him on the street on a cart. The situation was aggravated by the fact that veterinarians found problems with the thyroid gland in the dog.
The dog was prescribed a course of treatment and nutrition was adjusted. At first, according to the owners of the pet, it was not easy, because Klitus constantly asked for food and was capricious.
As a result, in a year, Klitus lost about seven kilograms and reached normal weight. Now the dog is feeling well, he has recovered and, according to the owners, he feels happy: he can play and walk.
