Aspiring British actress Gracie McGonigal received a bionic hand for Christmas, writes the Daily Mirror.
The 18-year-old was born without her left arm below the elbow, but has already starred in short films, television commercials and local theater shows. When Gracie was born, her defect came as a shock to a mother named Ellen, as the defect was not visible on the scan. The doctors explained to her that the arm was not developing due to the blockage of blood circulation in the uterus.

“It was not a discomfort. I learned how to clean my shoes and found ways to wash my hair myself. She began performing at an early age. I always stood out from the crowd, which was an advantage in the theater,”explained the actress.
Gracie lives with her 51-year-old mother in Ealing, West London. Last weekend, she was given a bionic hand for £ 10,000 (about a million rubles). The mechanism was donated to the young actress by a charitable foundation. McGonigal, who recently enrolled in the College of Performing Arts in London, is delighted with the gift and believes a hand will help her find her dream roles. “I feel that now I can achieve everything,” she summed up.
