VOLGOGRAD, February 24. / TASS /. Volgograd police found and detained a student who danced on the Mamayev Kurgan. Svetlana Smolyaninova, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region, told reporters on Wednesday.
"The student who danced on the Mamayev Kurgan was identified and detained by the police," Smolyaninova said. She clarified that police officers are trying to find in one of the social networks a video in which a young man is dancing at the foot of the Mamayev Kurgan. Based on its search results, a decision will be made.
Earlier, the online edition v1.ru reported that a local blogger published a video on his profile on the TikTok social network where he, stripped to the waist, dances at the foot of the Motherland sculpture on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd.
"It has been established that the video was shot by a 20-year-old resident of the Gorodishchensky district, a student of the Volgograd Institute of Management, a branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. He explained his actions by the fact that he wanted to attract subscribers to his Internet channel," said the head press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
