Singer Pelageya was born and raised in Novosibirsk. The parents chose an unusual name for her, but at birth they still wrote down Polina in the documents.
Pelageya's success in her musical career began with her acquaintance at the age of 9 with the leader of the Kalinov Most group, Dmitry Revyakin. He sent a videotape of her performance to the Morning Star competition, where the young talent won first place. In 1996, she became the "Best Folk Song Performer in Russia", for which she received an award in the amount of one thousand dollars.
When Pelageya was 10 years old, her family moved to Moscow, where she began to develop closely as an artist.
