Archaeologists have discovered an 1,900-year-old figurine in the east of England. Having carefully studied the find, the experts noticed the currently popular men's hairstyle.

"Celebrities, including football player Cristiano Ronaldo, actor Brad Pitt and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, show similar style traits at times," experts said in the Daily Mail.

Initially, the figurine was discovered two years ago during excavations at the Wimpole estate, but the hair, mustache and facial features were noticed only now, when it was thoroughly cleaned. It is noted that the copper figure depicts a god worshiped by the early Britons. Experts have suggested that this is the god of fertility and masculinity of Cernunnos.

“This figure is an exceptional find. Thanks to careful conservation and cleaning, we can now see some remarkable details. His hair and mustache are distinctly visible, which may indicate current trends or perhaps typical depictions of this particular deity, said Shannon Hogan, archaeologist at the National East Anglia Foundation.

The figure holds a torque - a metal ring with an open end. The figure probably originally served as the handle of a scapula. It was most likely lost or abandoned at Wimpole by the inhabitants of early Roman Britain at the end of the Iron Age.

So, experts believe that the statuette allows conclusions to be drawn about how the inhabitants of England looked in the 1st century.
