The tightening of requirements for plastic surgery clinics has led to a decrease in the number of complications after plastic surgery in Russia, she said in an interview with [News.ru] (https://news.ru/health/v-rossii-snizilos-chislo-oslozhnenij-pri-provedenii- plasticheskih-operacij /) chief freelance specialist, plastic surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Natalya Manturova.
“The clinics that were able to comply with the order are large institutions containing a large number of departments and specialists who are fully responsible for their patients, these clinics have a higher level of safety and medical care, good equipment,” said Manturova.
She explained that increased requirements for the provision of medical care in the profile of "plastic surgery" were introduced in 2018, then mass checks of these institutions were carried out, as a result of which many clinics lost their licenses.
Now, Manturova added, patients of plastic surgery clinics have become more protected, and the number of scandalous cases and complications after surgery has declined.
